Outreach
In the region surrounding the Northern Jaguar Reserve, fostering community support with our neighbors and building social tolerance to ensure the long-term survival of wildlife is vital. NJP is working to create an appreciation for the local environment among area youth through environmental education initiatives. We are simultaneously encouraging rural landowners to shoot cats with cameras, not guns. Our efforts within the local ranching community and with children are the best ways we can envision to shift attitudes that have long supported the killing of wildlife, particularly jaguars, toward a vision that embraces conservation.
